GUEST BLOG: CTD Creative Consulting
As I was saying in my Newsletter (if you don’t receive our newsletter and would like to receive it every 15th of the month, click above on “Get Insider Tips”), the wind can get the kite so out of control that you need to shift left and right. Depending on if there are high winds, you might be running a marathon while trying to fly the kite. You just don’t want to do that when it comes to your own business. You want to control the wind and how high and steady your kite will fly.
I launched my business in March of 2019 where I thought it would be a great idea to create my own website. Well, as an entrepreneur, I wanted to be in control of everything and didn’t want anyone doing anything for me. BOY, WAS I WRONG!!! I have come a long way from March of 2019 – I learned real quick that if I don’t specialize in something that I need to do for my business, I should just hire someone to do it in less the time. Believe me, it’s so worth it!
A few months after I launched my business, I connected with a woman named Dennise M. Kowalczyk which is the CEO of CTD Creative Consulting. The first time we met, I found that she has such a fun spirit, is very creative & has some great ideas. After a couple of conversations with her, I knew that she could help me perfect my website along with an amazing website designer (look out for the September Issue for Ramona Nichols’ with Inspired Creatives Studio guest blog). I, quickly, decided that I needed Dennise to also help me create blogs & Facebook/LinkedIn content. She has been very articulate & wise in all of her work that she has constructed for my website and my blogs. I trust her judgement & expertise. She has helped me bring my business to a new level of how to market myself.
Dennise combines her years of experience in communications and workflow systems development to help clients do what they do best: FIND MORE CUSTOMERS! She is a huge fan of positive psychology and good ole hard work. The combination makes her a pragmatic optimist who is excited to help others make their digital mark in the world. She is also the host and producer of BroadBand the Podcast (https://anchor.fm/broadband), a show featuring women business owners. She is also the owner of Dames Who Do RI (https://dameswhodopvd.weebly.com/), a women’s social group that meets for dinner, hiking, and other adventures.
While getting to know Dennise, I had the privilege of asking her a few questions about herself & her business….read on to learn more about this interview:
Why did you pick this trade, in particular?
I had a long career in the nonprofit sector but when it came to looking for a new job after moving to Rhode Island, I started having nightmares about going to prison! I decided that there is no time like the present to pursue my dream of launching my own business, so that is what I did in September 2019. I had been doing digital communications for a number of years and really enjoyed it, so I decided to grow my side hustle into an actual business. The timing could not have been better as it was six months before the pandemic hit and I had a head start on my pivot.
What are the top three reasons why a business owner should invest in your service/product?
As a personal digital publicist, I work with small businesses and nonprofits to build awareness about the brilliant thing that your organization is bringing into the world. I do this a few ways: write compelling copy for your website or engaging blogs to build awareness about your expertise; use social media like LinkedIn to strengthen your credibility; I create e-newsletters to share out information about your offers; and, we work together to seek interview opportunities on podcasts and blogs to build your brand and get in front of potential clients. As your very own publicist – we get the good word out about your services in a way that motivates people to want to learn more about what you do and to help grow your business. I help you use the digital space to connect with your clients. So, if you are ready to connect the dots to your success, let’s start with a chat……https://ctdcreative.co/
What would your future self say to your current self?
Well done, Dennise! You reclaimed your self-confidence and pursued a lot of dreams in your life instead of being fearful of risk. You learned how to mess up and that it was okay to learn from your mistakes. You also learned how to be more compassionate. You lived a wholehearted life that has led to many adventures. Keep living the good life, girl!
What was the craziest thing you have done?
I moved to Providence, Rhode Island – sight unseen – and fell in love with my new home state. A few weeks after arriving here, I was told that Ocean Staters are ‘aggressively friendly’ and I knew I found my people. I have found a community of people that continues to teach me about the beauty of exploring and a community that has embraced me. I will be forever grateful for all of the generosity I have received.
I hope you all had a wonderful time reading all about Dennise and her business! Are you interested to learning more about what Dennise does or want to contact her? You’re in luck…..here’s her contact information:
