Today, is our 3 year anniversary and we are in disbelief it’s been that long!!! Our “baby” is growing up so fast!! Speaking of babies, that is exactly the reason why Founder & CEO, Dolly Towne of Bookkeeping Towne, decided to open her own business back on 3/3/2019!
How Dolly became a business owner…..
She’s been in this industry for fifteen years. Her professional journey started by earning her business management degree from New England College of Business in Boston. She attended school while working a full time job. She built her accounting skills by working at businesses by helping with collections, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll tax analysis. The corporate world has served her well for those 15 years but when she had her child in 2018, everything changed!
When she went back to work in May 2018, she felt very overwhelmed with all of the work, her doctor’s appointments & her son’s appointments. After a couple of months working, she was pulled aside by her manager because she was missing so much work & just can’t keep up because of the missed time at work. So, she took a risk and decided to quit her job on 11/12/2018 to be there for family & to mentally take a break from the demands of the corporate world. During the holiday season of 2019, she focused spending her time with her family & friends.
In the new year of 2019, she knew she wanted to get back to work but didn’t want to be back in the corporate world. She started to research work-from-home jobs on the internet and found online bookkeeping programs so she went for it. What happened next was the most amazing chapter in her life! On 3/3/2019, she launched Bookkeeping Towne and never has looked back. Juggling being a mom, wife, chef, painter, maid, financial planner, dish washer, taxi, etc, she felt that this is the best thing she can do for herself & family.
For the 3 years of business that Bookkeeping Towne has been in, we have helped many business owners, individuals, friends and family with bookkeeping, budgeting and financial advice. Running a business is not the easiest thing that I have done, but is definitely the most rewarding, especially being a minority. In celebration of Women’s History Month, we commend, uplift & encourage all of the working moms, single women, married women to make those dreams a reality. It’s definitely possible with the right people on your side. We have so many people to thank to where we are today!
All of us at Bookkeeping Towne want to thank you all for your support, partnerships, connections & our clients for trusting in us to provide you with amazing bookkeeping service!
