Towne’s Two Cents

August 22, 2023 Edition

When I first started out (in 2019), I didn’t know many people but I was trying to be on social media as much as I can so my face can be familiar to people.  Well, right when I was starting to network, a woman told me about Alignable – I had no idea what it was all about but it seemed to be another way to network with people.  I might as well try it, since I was new to the entrepreneurship arena.  I think I was on Alignable for a month or so, and I get my first invitation to “meet & greet”!  I was ecstatic – so excited that I prepared a little gift bag for her.  I always loved making people feel special, especially if they go out of their way to come meet me.  This woman’s name is Dennise Kowalczyk and it was such a sweet honor to have met her.  To this day, we have collaborated in so many ways…..on a business & personal level!  I’m so happy I met Dennise!  One of those great collaborations was introduced to me about a year ago in a group called Amplification Allies which was created by Dennise Kowalczyk.  It is a small group of women where we “amplify” each other’s businesses & posts on LinkedIn.  We all help each other in one way or another.  That is just one of the projects she has worked on – there are so many!  But before I continue……

Let me introduce you to her!   Dennise Kowalczyk is the owner of CTD Creative Consulting and has created so many projects.  She has a podcast called Broadband the Podcast, hosts a women’s social group called Dames Who Do, goes on adventures with other women through Hiking Honeys, created a women’s group called Amplification Allies & I know that she will do so much more.  As a business relationship consultant for women entrepreneurs, she developed services for Second Act Women business owners seeking to build relationships with their online community with strategic online and relationship marketing strategies to help grow their business.  To learn more about Dennise, I asked her if she would like to be my guest this month to interview and she ACCEPTED!!!

Let’s get started with the interview:

  • Why did you pick this trade, in particular?

I am an accidental entrepreneur.  I had a long and successful career as a nonprofit professional with a side hustle providing LinkedIn support to consultants. When opportunity knocked, I decided to go all in and developed services at CTD Creative Consulting for 2nd Act women business owners seeking to build relationships with their online community.

  • What are the top three reasons why a business owner should invest in your service/product?

The top three reasons to invest your time and money with CTD Creative Consulting: (1) Your business relationships matter to you. (2) You want to keep the social in your media. (3) You want to grow your customer base with authentic connections because engaged clients bring in 51% higher revenue.

  • Who was the most influential person in your business life?

Any woman who shows the chutzpah to go for it when it comes to building a business. It takes a whole mess of courage to step out onto that ledge of uncertainty. I am in awe of how many women are doing this kind of professional adventure and personally, my goal is to never go back to traditional employment. I mean, I really like my current boss. 😉

  • Not everyone of our ideas succeeds……have you had any idea that has failed?  If yes, what did you do to pick yourself back up?

Do two divorces count?  LOL In all seriousness, failing is as equally important as succeeding. I just learned this quote and I love it so much:  “I do not fail. I either win or learn.”. That is from the amazing Nelson Mandela. When I mess up – and I do so often because I take on all sizes of risks – I do feel bad and then I take a look at what happened to learn from the experience.

Do you feel stuck not knowing how to adjust your digital engagement strategy? Are you curious about why you can’t share your content easily? Do you want to brainstorm an idea? Are you looking for ideas on how to build relationships with our online connections? Let’s have a strategy chat! In this one-to-one session, we will review your ideas and talk about some possible options.  I will also connect you with several resources based on the topic. The session will be recorded for you to review after our session. Learn more here!
